Smart Chemical Solutions acquires Polymer Technologies
Oilfield chemicals & well services
Smart Chemical Solutions, a provider of production chemicals for onshore oil and gas operators backed by Xyresic Capital and Gladstone Investment, has acquired Polymer Technologies, a Plainville, Kansas-based polymer-gel well services company operating since 1989.
News: A sponsor-backed specialty chemicals platform adds a decades-old niche service business with proprietary technology, extending into well-intervention and water conformance.
Why it matters: Gladstone Investment says the deal supports its strategy of growing Smart Chemical by adding differentiated products and services, which points to further buy-and-build in oilfield chemicals and services.
Radar: Watch for more add-ons by Smart Chemical among small oilfield chemical, water treatment and well-service providers serving maturing wells.
