UK: Ansor-backed Corvero acquires aerospace tooling firm Datum Design
Aerospace tooling and precision manufacturing
Ansor's aerospace manufacturing consolidator Corvero has acquired Datum Design, a 30-year-old Northern Ireland specialist in aerospace tooling design and manufacture founded by Michael Maguire and John Getty.
News: A founder-led tooling business is the third bolt-on this year for a UK buy-and-build that already has precision machining and surface treatment in Bristol.
Why it matters: Datum's long relationships with Airbus, Boeing, GKN and Thales pull Corvero earlier into the design stage of aerospace programmes.
Radar: Watch for further UK aerospace and defence manufacturing add-ons as Corvero fills out an end-to-end offering. Terms were not disclosed.
