Cordatus Capital takes majority stake in floor abrasives maker Diamabrush
Floor preparation / abrasives manufacturing
Cordatus Capital has taken a majority stake in Diamabrush, the Sterling Heights, Michigan maker of proprietary abrasive tools for concrete and terrazzo floors founded in 2007 by co-founder and CEO Mike Sancimino, who stays on to lead the business.
News: A founder-built niche industrial manufacturer brings in lower-middle-market PE for innovation, geographic reach and acquisitions while the founder remains CEO.
Why it matters: Specialist consumables businesses with patented products and a technical service network fit the Cordatus lower-middle-market brief of cash-flowing companies roughly in the $25–$200m revenue range.
Radar: Watch for Diamabrush add-ons in floor preparation, polishing tools and related consumables.
