MPE-backed Intermatic acquires outdoor lighting controls maker Sun-Tech
Electrical controls / outdoor lighting
MPE Partners portfolio company Intermatic has acquired Sunrise Technologies (Sun-Tech), the Raynham, Massachusetts maker of outdoor lighting controls and power-connectivity products with more than 1,000 SKUs across three legacy brands.
News: A lower-middle-market industrial platform adds a complementary photocontrols and power-connectivity specialist while keeping Sun-Tech brands independent.
Why it matters: Utility and municipal outdoor-lighting spend keeps attracting PE-backed controls platforms that buy niche manufacturers rather than build every SKU in-house.
Radar: Watch for further Intermatic add-ons in outdoor lighting controls, photocontrols and related electrical components.
